Undergradeate Double Major Program

ERCIYES UNIVERSITY DOUBLE MAJOR PROGRAM PRINCIPLES

In accordance with the “Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer”, the conditions, necessary documents and deadline for students to be admitted to the Double Major Programs in Formal and Secondary Education are given below.

ADMISSION & APPLICATION

  1. Students can apply to the Double Major Program at the beginning of the third semester at the earliest, at the beginning of the fifth semester in four-year programs, at the beginning of the seventh semester in five-year programs, and at the beginning of the ninth semester in six-year programs.
  2. It is not possible to enroll in more than one Double Major Diploma Program at the same time.
  3. Second education students can choose their regular education programs, and regular education students can choose their second education program as a Double Major Program.
  4. In order for the student to apply for the Double Major Diploma Program, he/she must have taken and succeeded all the courses in the Major Diploma Program until the semester he/she applied for.
  5. Grade point average in the major program is not less than 3.00 (three) and is in the first twenty percent of the major program in terms of success in the relevant class.
  6. In order to be able to apply for the Double Major Diploma Program, the same type of score must be obtained at least equal to the base score of the program for which the Double Major Program will be made, from the exam held by OSYM in the year of registration for the Major Diploma Program.
  7. He/She must not have received disciplinary action.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  1. Application Petition,
  2. Approved Grade Chart,
  3. Document Regarding Not Receiving Disciplinary Punishment,
  4. ÖSYS Result Document,
  5. A document stating that the major program is in the first twenty percent of the success in the relevant class.

OTHER PRINCIPLES

  1. Students who have a cumulative grade point average of at least 70 out of 100 at the time of application and are in the top 20% of the major diploma program in terms of success in the relevant class of the major diploma program can apply to the second major diploma program. In addition, higher education institutions can determine quotas in accordance with the following conditions and students can apply within the scope of these conditions: b) Except for law, medicine and health programs and engineering programs, the quotas of programs for double major are determined by the relevant unit, not less than 20% of the quota of the programs, and the decision is made by the senate of our university. c) Among the students who have a cumulative grade point average of at least 70 out of 100 in the major diploma program, but are not in the top 20% of the major diploma program in terms of success in the relevant class, those who have a score not less than the base score of the program to which the double major will be made in the relevant year are also double major. They can apply for the program.”
  2. The equivalent courses of the students admitted to the Double Major Programs and the courses they will take in the Second Major Program are determined and announced until the beginning of the relevant semester.
  3. In matters that are not included in these principles, the application is made in accordance with the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer".

APPLICATION DATES AND ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS

Applications are made to the relevant Faculty Dean's Office. Applications with missing documents and/or applications not submitted in due time will not be accepted and postal delays will not be taken into account.

Applications for the Double Major Program are made 15 days before the start of the Fall and Spring semesters.

Faculties evaluate the applications in their respective committees and announce the results on their web pages before the start of education.
